Organizations with Fundraising Events

Pink Ribbon Charity Walk

The Pink Ribbon Charity Walk is an annual autumn event organized by 2C Communication in support of the Krebsliga Schweiz (Swiss Cancer League). All proceeds fund breast cancer research, prevention and patient care in Switzerland. The AWCZ and Zurich International Women's Association have often participated together as a group at the walk. This year's walk will take place on Sunday, September 24, 2017. Please use the link above if you are interested, as we will not be registering as a group this year.

Stiletto Run

Run to support human trafficking victims in short, individual or relay races - children barefoot, and men/women in stilettos! The registration fee is donated to FIZ-Advocacy and Support for Migrant Women and Victims of Trafficking, a local organization dedicated to helping these women reconstruct their lives. The event normally takes place in May or June.

Duck Race

Sponsor a duck (or one for each of your family members!) and come to Zurich each August to watch the ducks race down the Limmat. This is a great outing for families with young children. Proceeds support Krebsliga Zurich.

Worthy Causes to Donate to

FIZ (Advocacy and Support for Migrant Women and Victims of Trafficking)

FIZ provides crisis intervention for victims of trafficking and abuse for women ages 15 - 50. They maintain a shelter for approximately six women. Their offices are here in Zurich and they support women from 10 of the 26 cantons in Switzerland. With a staff of about 18, approximately 200 women are helped each year. Find out more at

Terre des hommes (Tdh)

Terre des hommes is a Swiss NGO (ZEWO certified) and the largest international children's aid organization in Switzerland. Tdh provides support to children in 33 countries in the areas of health, social welfare and children's rights. In Lausanne, Tdh's La Maison is a convalescence home for poor children from around the world who receive life-saving surgeries for free. The AWCZ periodically collects small carry-on bags, children's clothing and car seats for use at La Maison. You can read more about Terre des hommes here.

Mütterhilfe, founded in 1932, provides support to mostly young moms and their partners, if they have one. Support is provided from pregnancy through age 3 of the child. With a staff of 10, they help approximately 500 families annually, of which 52% are single parent households. They provide social advice, counseling and therapy, promote a good and secure parent-child relationship, help engage fathers in their new role, and provide a clothing and equipment exchange.
