“How do I even get started meditating?”
It’s usually quickly followed up with “What do I do? How should I sit? How long should I sit? Are there books I should read?” And sometimes a week later they’ll report, “Well, I tried it, and nothing happened. Am I doing it wrong?”
Some researchers have found that as little as 10 minutes a day of meditation over an eight-week period can produce noticeable changes in the brain, decrease levels of anxiety, and increase immune function and overall happiness and well-being.
This workshop helps you to get started with meditation and establish a regular practice. Everyone has the capacity to be present, and it doesn’t require us to change who we are, but we can cultivate these innate qualities with simple practices that are scientifically demonstrated to benefit us in many ways.
Ela Amarie, Psychologist, Certified Mindfulness trainer and coach, delivers interventions, workshops and retreats on Mindfulness, Stress Prevention and Emotional Balance. She works with individuals and organizations advising them on how to use mindfulness techniques to optimize performance and improve mental and physical well-being.
