Date: Wednesday, March 22
Time: 19.00 – 21.00
Presenter: Diccon Bewes
Everything you wanted to know about writing but didn't know who to ask. From the actual craft of writing to finding a publisher or agent, then the publishing process plus marketing, social media and bookselling. The course will involve a short presentation, with a couple of (written!) exercises, but mostly lots of time for you to ask whatever you want. How to create a proposal? Should you write 1000 words a day? What is the point of Twitter for authors? Really whatever you want to ask. It will be relaxed, informative and fun.
About Diccon Bewes
Travel writer, chocolate lover and Englishman in Bern. I've written five books about Switzerland, the first of which (Swiss Watching) became a No1 bestseller. I was also marketing manager for Lonely Planet guidebooks, staff travel writer for Holiday Which? magazine, bookseller for Waterstone's and Stauffacher. I run a popular website/blog, have a large social media following and regularly give public talks and press interviews. So I can offer insights to every aspect of writing.
