Living in Zurich® is the answer! LIZ is the survival toolkit for those new to Switzerland or Zurich. LIZ is an essential orientation seminar designed for all English-speaking expats who have recently moved into or near Zurich

Sponsored by the American Women’s Club of Zurich, this comprehensive course is offered in English and is open to women and men of all nationalities.

Our experts have been sharing their expertise with our course participants for 26 years - easing the transition of newcomers to this fascinating and new area. This 5 session seminar is interesting, informative and fun.

In this highly concentrated course – make friends – learn a lot – have a great time!

Topics Covered
Swiss culture, tradition, history, holidays and etiquette; Swiss infrastructure such as banking, postal services, traffic, police, law, government, medicine, insurance, transportation, recycling; and social topics which include shopping, food, dining, excursions and travel.

Optional lunches, afternoon tours and workshops covering a variety of topics e.g. Swiss languages, housing, having a baby in Switzerland are also offered.  The LIZ program provides a wonderful opportunity to meet others new to Zurich, to make new friends and establish a support network.

Living in Zurich® Handbook
This book of need-to-know information is included with the course. It is a complete guide to life in Zurich and Switzerland with over 400 pages of invaluable information to help you navigate your life here. Course Location
The course will be held at the American Women's Club of Zurich (AWCZ) Clubhouse. Some lunches and afternoon activities will be in the area, but accessible by public transportation or on foot. The Clubhouse is within walking distance of Bahnhof Wiedikon, Bahnhof Selnau or Stauffacher Platz. Click for map

Childcare
Childcare is provided on site. Cost is approximately 25 CHF per child, per morning session.

Full sponsors are promoted during the course, in the Living in Zurich Handbook and in our monthly Round Robin magazine. Sponsors are encouraged to provide promotional materials to participants. In addition, full sponsors are entitled to purchase LIZ Handbooks for a discounted rate.

    Partial Sponsors are also promoted during the course and are encouraged to provide promotional materials to participants. Offers of coffee breaks, lunches and aperos are examples of partial sponsorship opportunities.
