    Current Volunteer Opportunities

    Library Volunteers
The AWCZ library is fully staffed by a team of regular and substitute volunteers.  We welcome new volunteers at any time.  All volunteers must be members of the AWCZ or 'Friends' subscribers and are needed to fill regular monthly shifts, or to act as substitutes.  From time to time, we request volunteers to assist with special projects.

The Welcome Team Needs Area Reps with Young Children
The Welcome Team, which is the body of the club that welcomes new members, is in need of more reps with young children. Many new members are joining with young children and need someone who understands what they are going through. If you want to help us with these new members please contact the Welcome Team immediately. You won't regret it as many who are the team have gotten so much from the experience! You will too!

    Coffee Morning Hostesses
Come join the Coffee Morning team. Once a month, the club hosts either a Welcome Coffee or a Coffee Morning. Our Coffee hostesses come in about an hour before the event begins to make the coffee, plate the snacks, and decorate the tables. Once our members arrive – just mix, mingle, and have a good time (oh – and make sure the coffee pot’s not empty), then tidy up afterwards. This is a fun job for friendly people. We have 5 on the team, and would like to add 3 members.

    Decorating Team
The AWCZ hosts about 6 major events in the Clubhouse each year. These lunches are catered by our chef/caterer – but we like to do our own decorating. If you would like to help in setting the tables, arranging flowers or other table decorations, and just making the room look pretty - we’d like you to join our team. We decorate the Clubhouse with a Christmas tree and other holiday decorations before Santa’s special visit. If you can help with one (or more!) of these events – give us call- we’ll let you know when your help is needed. This is a great way to meet new gals in a very relaxed atmosphere. We have 5 on the team now and want to add 7.

    Information Technology Assistance

We will also be looking for volunteers to help with running the new website.  We will provide professional training to interested volunteers.  We are looking for volunteers for the following positions:
Event Administrator: This person will update events in the reservation system.  Estimated work volume is about 7 to 10 hours per month. All work can be done from home.
Email Administrator: This person would support all the cubs email accounts, including setting them up, mapping them properly to private accounts and closing old accounts.  Estimated work volume is about 3 to 5 hours per month.  All work can be done from home.
Scheduler: This person would manage the online clubhouse rental reservation system, confirm requested room reservations and coordinate the clubs calendar.  Estimated work volume is 10 to15 hours per month.  All work can be done from home.

    Round Robin Magazine
The Round Robin is completely the work of our dedicated staff of member volunteers! We have a large team so we can share the work and cross-train for coverage when we’re traveling. Some positions can be done partly at home, and we get together and you will also get out to meet people. For details contact the Editor.

The Round Robin needs a new Production Co-Manager

    Round Robin Production Staff
Participate in the hands-on process of putting together the Round Robin. Place text, ads and graphics in InDesign. If you don’t know InDesign we will teach you what you need to know; if you have background in another layout application we will give you more advanced training.

A chance to work on a worthwhile project! You will know what is going on in the Club, work with other staff members, learn some new skills for your CV and have the satisfaction of preparing a publication appreciated by all the Club members.

3 half days or more per month (with some months off of course) needed.
