Date: Tuesday, March 13
Time: 16.00 – 17.30
Presenter: Robin John Simmons
T'ai Chi has been around for hundreds of years. The slow "forms" merge into each other to create a unique artistic and balanced experience. Learning the forms takes time, but has many benefits including improved coordination, breathing, posture, balance, calmness, and strength. Even learning a few forms can bring these benefits.
We will explore preliminary "exercises" (which are valuable in themselves) to lead in to the traditional sequence of forms. We will look at one or two other aspects of T'ai Chi as well as the meditational side.
Robin John Simmons has been teaching T'ai Chi since 1972. He teaches the Long and the Short forms of the Yang Style based on the work of Cheng Man Ch'ing. He also teaches the meditational aspects of T'ai Chi, though it is important to understand the martial aspects to perform the "forms" correctly. He runs a small group class in Zürich and also teaches individuals privately.
