2nd Annual Chili Cook Off

Join us for our 2nd Anual Chili Cook Off where Raun Kupiec, last years reigning Chili Champion, will defend his title.

We learned last year that you don't need to be afraid to add some heat and seafood chili is a real thing! You also don't need to make something to participate in a fun, family friendly event. The more family members you bring, the more votes you can cast for your favorite chili!

Dessert will be provided by the PhASE Team and drinks will be availble for purchase.

Date: February 2

Cost: Free if you bring chili with all the fixings. Otherwise, 10 CHF per person 20 per family

February - Evening Book Club

Do you enjoy books, wine, or cheese? If so, please join us for evening book club. We will aim to choose the books as we go and are open to any suggestions and genres. The goal of the club is to relax, unwind, and discuss the book we’ve read. If you don’t like the book or find yourself without time to complete it you’re still welcome to come – so long as you don’t mind spoilers and bring some wine or cheese!

Writers Group - February

Canadian-Swiss, Yvonne Federer will facilitate this month.

Yvonne has written a textbook on animal symbolism in Jungian psychology. She has written about her mother‘s Quaker ancestry, which dates to 1730. She is currently working on her memoirs about growing up on a remote lake in Canada. For this session, Yvonne will reference pages 28 and 29 in A Year to a Writing Life, by Susan Tiberghien. A reference copy is in the library at the front desk. We will focus on revising and polishing a first draft.

We welcome moms and kids to our monthly Kids Corner meet-up. Come join us at the club for a coffee, chat, and some play time! Stella Shafer will also be joining our group and offering a story time for the little ones, starting at 3:20.

Voting Outreach Event

A joint event with the AWCZ & AWCB: How to Vote from Anywhere When You Are an American Overseas

Are you a new Expat and would like to vote from abroad? Or are you or a family member a first-time voter? 2020 is an important election year. We have joined forces with our sister club, the American Women’s Club of Bern, to offer this event. Amy Hocking, Vice Consul and representatives from the Embassy will bring the most current information about how to register to vote in all U.S. states and will be prepared to assist people to fill out the forms and answer your voting questions.
