Because of Corona we can't plan excursions for you! I have a few ideas for you that you can do individually. Have you visited all the museums in Zurich, Berne, Winterthur, Lucerne, and so on? Have you ever been to the picturesque little towns of Aarau, Schaffhausen, Zofingen, Solothurn, Glarus, Willisau, Murten, or Montreux? Have you ever walked all the small canyons in Kanton Zurich?

There are many botanical gardens (big or small) in Switzerland. There is so much to explore in the French part of Switzerland. In spring meadows, spring flowers are a must-see in the region of Neuchâtel and La Chaux-de-Fonds. I will send out "the virus of exploring what is possible right now" to you all. We can stand up to the current Corona situation! There are still many possibilities for private and safe excursions.

Whatever you explore please report to our Round Robin editor Lisa and share your photos in the Club album. I am sure at the end we will have a huge "flower bouquet" collected by our club members. I am reaching out to you and asking for this new club activity. We can do it together, although independently, and the results are ours to share.

    WE ARE A COMMUNITY!

Stay safe, join our AWCZ team spirit, and send in your excursions reports.

    Sincerely yours,

    Evi

Need to stock up your book collection? Read a book during lockdown that you'd like to donate? Do you like baked goodies?

The Book and Bake Sale is coming back on Saturday, June 5, from 9.00 to 15.00! Come by to buy a new-to-you book and support the AWCZ Library.

If you'd like to donate your old books, we are looking for ones less than 5 years old. We are not taking textbooks and are taking only English and German books. Children and adult books are welcome. You can drop books off during Library hours.

We will also be holding a bake sale at the same time. Donate your baked goods, or come by to buy some.

Please contact Round Robin editor Lisa or Library Chair Diane to volunteer.

With increasing COVID case rates and concerns about the latest wave, Art Guild continues its break. Our outings are on the back burner for now. Check E-blasts for updates. If there is a particular exhibition you really would like to see, contact artguild@awczurich.org and, perhaps, Anni may be able to join you.

    Dear Club Members,

I’m happy to announce with the easing of restrictions by the BAG, the Club can reopen for activities and events with 15 (total) people or less in the Clubhouse on Monday, 19 April 2021. Social distancing and mask wearing will still be required upon entering the Club and while standing and moving about. Masks can be taken off for food and drink consumption only as long as people are seated and everyone is comfortable with it. Contact tracing will still be required for everyone that enters our Club (the sign-in sheet will remain at the desk). Please continue to follow the hygiene procedures set forth by the BAG for the last 15 months. Hand sanitizer will continue to be available for our Members and guests.

    President Lyla Taylor
