Kids Corner: Uetliberg Planetweg

On Sunday, September 22, 2024. we are hosting our next Kids Corner Adventure Day with a gondola up to Felsenegg, hike across the Panorama/Planet Trails, lunch at Uto Kulm Uetliberg, and a hike down to the Hoehensteinplatz Playground.

This adventure day is intended for the entire family (all ages are welcome, moms, dads, grandparents, friends). Please note the trails are groomed but not paved so only strollers with big wheels are recommended. This event is free, attendees cover your own costs.

Cost: Participants will cover their own cost.

Here are the detailed plans for the day:

1. 10.35: Take the Gondola from Adliswil to Felsenegg. For those who are joining from Zürich HB, we will depart the Zürich HB at 9.58 arriving at Adliswil station 10.15 (S4 train). There is a 10min uphill walk from Adliswil to the gondola up to Felsenegg. We will stop for a few photos and a play at the playground (bring 1fr coins if your child likes small, electric carousels!), in case you are running late.

2. 11.00-13.00: Hike along Planetweg/Panorama Trail (https://swissfamilyfun.com/uetliberg-planet-path/, FYI , we are going in the opposite direction from the above website path)

3. 13.00-14.30: Lunch stop at Uto-Kulm. We may walk up to the Uetliberg viewpoint (I think you need a 1fr or 2fr coin, it’s many stairs and a height!).

4. 14.30-15.15: Hike from Uetliberg Uto Kulm to the Höhensteinplatz Playground. It’s all downhill and a groomed trail but unpaved (we’ve been with our big stroller without issues but needs very durable wheels and it’s steep for a part of it). If you are tired, the Uetliberg train station is a 10-15min walk downhill and there’s a nice little playground behind the station. You can go to our next stop via train if you don’t feel up to the full hike, or venture home from here.

5. 15.15-16.00: Höhensteinplatz Playground hangout in the forest. Then, it’s a 10-15min walk to the nearest train station, Ringlikon, and trains run every 20 min. We will plan for the 16.25 train back for the Zürich HB
