Rebellious Grieving: Supporting Grievers

This session is an invitation to participate in an open and honest conversation about grief. We will:
1. Explore and reflect on the experience of grief.
2. Share ideas on how we can best support those who are grieving.
3. Consider what language and behavior may be helpful or unhelpful.
4. Challenge assumptions about "getting over" grief. We will acknowledge the complexity of grief while at the same time teasing out some small simple actions that can mean a lot to a grieving person.

As a facilitator/trainer with over 30 years' experience in a wide range of cultures and contexts, Sandra thrives on guiding groups through conversations on topics that are often feared or avoided. She draws on her background in psychology and psychosocial counselling as well as her own personal experience of grief and loss, having learned early in life that the silence surrounding bereavement and grief can be more painful and debilitating than the loss itself. Her mission is to foster a more open, creative, holistic, and irreverent approach to grief, which goes beyond "talking about it"; it can include "talking to it" and even "talking back to it".

The participant/s will be billed for the Workshop unless she/he has cancelled before the cancellation deadline.
