With a PhD in Chemistry and a background in the chemical industry, Mayra Markies founded Tanzania Unique Adventures (www.tanzania-unique-adventures.com). Through her Switzerland-based company and local team in Arusha, she gains firsthand insights into Tanzanian culture and women's roles in society.
